On the afternoon of June 30th, the graduation ceremony for the Chinese Language Training Center of School of International Education at Dalian University of Technology(DUT) for the spring semester of 2023 was held in Room 103 of the Graduates Teaching Building. Professor Duan Yuping, Dean of the School of International Education, Instructor Song Peng, Director of the Chinese Language Training Center, teaching staff from the center, and all participating students attended the ceremony. The ceremony was presided over by Director Song Peng.
The ceremony commenced with a video review of students' learning experiences during the semester, followed by an opening address from Professor Duan Yuping. Professor Duan congratulated the students on the successful completion of the Spring 2023 semester at the Chinese Language Training Center and expressed gratitude to all the teaching staff. He then acknowledged the progress made by the students over the past semester and conveyed his best wishes for their future endeavors. Professor Duan also expressed his hope that the students would carry the fond memories of their time at DUT and embark on new journeys in life, using their learning to become friendly ambassadors for Sino-foreign cultural exchanges, sharing China's stories with the world.
Next, Thai student THANAWAT JUNTAKAM from class Junior-3 delivered a speech on behalf of the students. THANAWAT JUNTAKAM shared his journey from not being able to speak Chinese at all to now being able to speak fluently, expressing his thoughts and experiences. He also conveyed the students' gratitude to the school and the teachers.
Representing all the teachers, instructor Liu Pinshan extended congratulations to the students on their successful graduation. She looked back on the vibrant learning experiences of Chinese language teachers and students at DUT, rejoicing in the significant leaps made in language proficiency within a short period. She encouraged students to use their Chinese language skills to overcome the limitations posed by language barriers during their study abroad journey and strive for a brighter future.
During the ceremony, "Full Attendance Award" was presented as well for the Spring 2023 semester. This award is a scholarship specially established for students in Chinese language Training Center by SIE. It aims at fostering a positive learning atmosphere and encourage students to excel academically. A total of 12 students received the "Full Attendance Award" this semester, and Professor Duan Yuping awarded each recipient with a certificate.
Lastly, Zhang Yihan, Deputy Director of the Enrollment and Development Office, gave a detailed presentation and answered questions about the university's program offerings, various academic degree programs, scholarship policies, and application procedures that students were concerned about. The ceremony concluded with a group photo with all the teachers and students.
