From August 28th to September 1st, Dalian University of Technology welcomed the new international students of 2023 academic year. With hope and blessings, they entered the academic palace of longing, explored the unknown, pursued their dreams, and embarked on a hopeful new journey of studying abroad.
On August 31st, Xiang Changle, the Secretary of the School Party Committee, Wu Songquan, the Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, and Zhang Chi, the Vice President, arrived at the registration point for freshmen international student to get knowledge of the current state of international student orientation work. Secretary Xiang first had a friendly conversation with volunteer students of the International School of Education to understand the preparation of international student orientation work. Subsequently, Secretary Xiang had a deep conversation with representatives of new international students from all over the world, inquiring about their countries, majors, and registration status. He sent the warmest welcome wishes to the new international students who had just entered the university campus, encouraging them to adapt to their study and life in China as soon as possible. He hoped that everyone would have new breakthroughs and gains in the university, and took a friendly photo with the volunteer students as a souvenir.

This autumn marks the first large-scale offline registration of international students in our school after the epidemic. The School of International Education (International Student Office), consisting of 42 faculty members and 33 Chinese and foreign students from 15 countries, provided enthusiastic, thoughtful, and convenient services to assist new students in answering questions and resolving doubts. They also assisted in completing various registration procedures such as information collection, accommodation, insurance purchase, tuition payment, and student registration, and distributed welcome materials, help them quickly adapt to campus life and smoothly integrate into the international family of Dalian University of Technology.

From September 4th to September 12th, the college will also conduct various types of enrollment education for international students through themed activities and lectures, covering campus visits, ice breaking exchanges, academic guidance, life guides, and other content, in order to help international students familiarize themselves better with the university and take the first step towards a new life of "studying at university"。
DUT has been actively engaged in the field of education in China for 67 years since 1956. We are committed to implementing the strategy of opening up education to the outside world and cultivating international talents who are willing to shoulder social responsibilities and understand Chinese culture. As of now, the school has trained over 10000 international students from over 110 countries. In the autumn semester of 2023, the school will admit a total of 382 international students from 50 countries, with a total of 1754 international students enrolled. 2023 international students gather here from around the world, carrying dreams and injecting diverse cultures into the university with a new perspective and cultural background, adding colorful colors, and jointly shaping a better future.
