On September 6th, a signing ceremony was successfully held for the co-construction internship base between Dalian University of Technology and Dalian Polytechnic University, which is built for the postgraduate student in Teaching Chinese to The Speakers of Other Languages (TCSOL). Professor Duan Yuping, Dean of School of International Education of our University, Professor Wang Sheng, Dean of School of International Education of Dalian Polytechnic University and relevant teaching representatives of both sides attended that ceremony.

During the signing ceremony, Professor Duan Yuping introduced the current situation of international student admission, management and education of our university, as well as the cultivation and internship needs of students from TCSOL. Furthermore, he sincerely expressed his gratitude to the School of International Education of Dalian Polytechnic University for its strong support to the construction of internship base. For the Dalian University of Polytechnic part, Professor Wang Sheng firstly expressed his gratitude to the School of International Education of our university. Then, he introduced the admission, management and education of international students in Dalian Polytechnic University. In addition to this, two sides also make a deep discussion upon core issues relating to the promotion of faculties’s qualification, the major features of TCSOL, and the management of international students, etc. Finally, two sides reached a consensus on the co-construction mode of the internship base and signed the co-construction agreement.

The cultivation and improvement of practical ability are important education part for TCSOL students. Our school has always attached great importance to the cultivation of international Chinese teacher candidates who can meet the needs of the new stage of the development of international Chinese language education. In order to lift the quality of practical teaching and professional practice ability of TCSOL students to a higher level, our school is actively expanding off-campus teaching internship bases and encouraging students to walk up to the platform, which can transform their theoretical knowledge into professional practice ability. In the future, we will make further educational combination between graduate students majoring in TCSOL and international students, which can constantly promote the communication between Chinese students and international students, as well as improve the quality of talents education in the aspect of international Chinese education.
